Session A Understanding Your Cultural Values  

Asian Pacific American Cultural Values - Stereotypes, the impact on self-esteem and self-identity, and their relationship to cultural values - Perceptions / Comparisons of APA and Anglo American values - Mainstream leadership skills and management styles

Session B  21st Century Leader  

What is a Leader?  In this workshop, the participants are guided through and exploration of a new leadership paradigm – one that requires individuals to be comfortable with their own identity and have the ability to operate in the larger society.

Session C  Elections and Appointments

An opportunity to get up close and personal with experts in politics.  Rob Allyn has successfully advised political candidates from City Hall (Dallas Mayor Laura Miller) to National Capitals (Vicente Fox, President of Mexico).  Rob will tell us the keys to political success.  Ken Anderson knows all about appointments because he is in the position to directly influence them.  Learn from a person who is actually in the process, today!

Session D  The Effective Board of Directors

Tired of unproductive board meetings? An effective, well organized governing board is a valuable asset to a nonprofit organization.  Participants attending this session will explore emerging trends in nonprofit boards, tips and techniques for conducting effective board meetings and learn about additional resources to help nonprofit boards and board members.

Session E  The Entrepreneurial Option

Session F - Connecting Through Collaboration- Building Strong Alliances

In this session, you will learn:  Current trends in nonprofit collaboration; How to assess your organizations partnering needs and select win-win partners; What partnering skills you need to bring to the table; and  Practical tools for working with other agencies. The workshop is informative and interactive, with lots of templates that you can use to make informed decisions about selecting partners, designing the collaborative process, and securing the agreements you need to manage risks, and clarify roles and responsibilities.
